The artwork’s first appearance was as part of the Great Exhibition of the North’s Self Build Utopias at Northern Stage where seven artists were asked to make an interactive artwork with members of the public around the idea of Utopia.
We curated a set of questions to ask people how would they like it to be if we could start our utopia tomorrow? So simple questions such as ‘what shall we have more/less of?’ to ‘what stories shall we tell?’ The answers were synthesized into text wrought by Sonia and individually designed by Lisa then printed on A0 size posters using the modern primary colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The posters were ordered in the exhibition to create mini trains of thought or contradiction.
We made posters of all the responses it was important that it was a democracy of all ideas

We would like to make this again (and again).
